The academic year-opening stadium show of the University of Debrecen, the 10th yoUDay, was held on Wednesday at Nagyerdei Stadium in a fantastic festive atmosphere. The jubilee event set an attendance record, with nearly 22,000 people partying in the venue alongside some of Hungary’s most popular star performers. Apart from Charlie, artists such as Beton.Hofi, BSW, Parno Graszt, and Bogi Nagy also participated in a gig on the arena's enormous stage.

The Orientation Day held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen focused on introducing the mandatory academic administrative procedures for first-year international students. The presentations delivered in English on this day covered topics like the infrastructure of the faculty, the way to register for courses in the Neptun system, and the introduction of an overview of the web-based systems at our university.
The Faculty of General Medicine plans a transnational education programme in Israel. Students participating in the programme perform their studies in Israel and Debrecen according to the curriculum and syllabus of the Debrecen medical training program. After the completion of the training, the diploma is issued by the University of Debrecen. Within the framework of the project, a new university campus is established by the Israeli partners in Eilat who signed a memorandum of understanding recently with the university and faculty leaders of Debrecen.

The general properties and the resistance of so-called aerogel materials, which are increasingly used in the construction, automotive, aerospace and oil industries, have been tested at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen. The consequent findings of our researchers may contribute to further growth in the application of aerogels.

Researchers at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen have investigated a physico-chemical treatment method for so-called bathroom greywater (BGW). This is water that has already been used once in the bathroom (gently) but can be reused for certain non-potable purposes after treatment. The findings were published in the journal Results in Engineering. This article has also been honored with a Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen and the University of Debrecen Publication Award.
The list of objectives with which Attila Jenei began his work as Vice Rector for International Affairs include the following items, among other things: the improvement of the international visibility of the university, the expansion of academic, strategic and industrial partnerships, the increase of the practical benefits of international relations, advancing in higher education rankings, strengthening student and researcher mobility, and developing a long-term and sustainable international brand-building and communication strategy for the institution. The director of the Coordinating Center for International Education has been responsible for overseeing the international activities of the University of Debrecen since July 1.
More than 7,800 international students will be able to pursue their studies at the University of Debrecen in the 2026–2027 academic year. According to preliminary data from the Coordinating Center for International Education (CCIE), more than 2,300 freshers will begin their studies in September in first-year programs and preparatory courses, a part of whom might arrive in Hungary as participants in the Stipendium Hungaricum program.
