Absolutorium

Upon the successful completion of the eight semesters of coursework, the doctoral student is given a pre-degree certificate (absolutorium). The absolutorium is the document attesting that the doctoral student has completed all academic requirements of the doctoral education. The doctoral committee of the disciplinary area may only issue the absolutorium for the doctoral student on the basis of the written approval of the head of the competent doctoral school. No absolutorium may be issued for doctoral students who have not obtained the required 240 credits. The issuance of the absolutorium shall be requested in writing.  The completed request for the issuance of the absolutorium, also signed by the doctoral school, must be submitted to the PhD office.
